Hello,

Welcome to my site Mark’s Pet Fish.com, where the motto is, “Sharing the Knowledge of Pet Fish Care.”

My name is Mark and at this point in my life I have had fish of various kinds for almost half of it. The story of how I got into the fish keeping hobby is rather interesting and so if you want to learn a little about me feel free to continue reading.

The day that I was introduced to the fish hobby was the day that my brother was moving and had to leave his ten gallon fish tank with me. He was moving to an apartment in the city that did not allow him to have pats so we made a deal that I would keep the tank just for the summer and then he would pay me back any money that I put into it. To be honest I did not want to keep the tank at all, even if he was going to pay me more than what I put into the tank, I simply did not want to be responsible for any type of pet, but to be a nice brother I agreed to taking the tank.

So a few weeks went by with the tank up and running, sitting there on my desk was this sad looking tank with murky water. Keep in mind he never told me how to care for the tank, I didn’t even know what a water change was, and there I was trying to keep a tank and its few inhabitants alive for three long months. After looking at the nasty water for a few days I jumped onto my laptop and starting researching everything and anything about how to keep a fish tank. Before I knew it a few hours had past and I was still sitting at my computer, the only thing that pulled me away from my searching was the loud roar of my stomach, at this point it would be safe to say that it was on that night that I was stuck with the, “fish bug,” or as some others call it, “fish fever.”

Well as time passed my knowledge on the subject of pet fish care was being used to no end by friends and a few family members who got hooked after seeing my tank, and so after many hours of conversation with these people, covering the same topics over and over again until my brain started to turn to moosh I had a wise person speak the word, “website” into my mind. That is when I realized that there was an easier way to have my friends and family assessable to my knowledge day and night without me really having to do anything. Well what started out for my friends and family has quickly turned into something much bigger. Now people from all over the world are learning from me and I must say it’s a pretty incredible feeling knowing that I helped someone in Australia or Japan.

So to keep this short that is me in a nut shell and my introduction to the pet fish hobby and how the site Marks Pet Fish.com came to be.
