		<description>Plecos feed more at night. But you could try feeding him during the day, forcing him to come out.

If you have fake plants than you can simply turn the lights off during the day for a few hours and your pleco should come out. If you have live plants I don&#039;t recommend during this because it will kill your plants more likely.</description>

		<description>my pleco is in a 70 gallon tank with oscars, i reguarly feed him algae tables every 2 - 3 days, hes happy hiding under the driftwood most of the day and will maybe go for a wonder, he destroyes all my plants. hes atleast 8-10inches and ive had him for 1 and half years =]. but how can i make him come out more often?</description>

If&#039;s fine that your fish are eating the algae, it&#039;s actually good for them to some point.

The only thing you need to make sure of is that your pleco is still getting some algae for him/her self.</description>

		<description>I would never recommend getting a Sailfin Pleco for an aquarium smaller than 75+ gallons, but since they are one of the most popular alage eaters out there, and are sold at cheap prices I want to inform people on how to properly care for them.

But they are not the worst algae eaters out there. If you say they are the worst because they destroy plants, I mentioned that as well. They are well behaved and only fight if being attacked and as far as fighting goes they only push back with their massive heads. 

But I do agree that you should try to solve an algae problem at the source, but some, such as me, enjoy the natural look that algae gives.
